2017 Parent Questionnaire Results

January 3, 2018

This past summer, the district released a parent survey similar to a survey conducted several years ago.  Though the survey was shortened, the questions were maintained to allow for some comparison to previous data.

Thank you to all parents who completed this survey, as the feedback will be valuable in helping the district continue to grow and improve upon the great things already in place.

Mechanicsburg’s #1 goal is to Prioritize the Learning of all Students to be college and career ready.   As you can see from the results in the Instruction Section of the survey, this goal is largely being met across the district!  These results reaffirm what we have seen in our student achievement data as well.  In the area of School Environment, it is obvious that the district has several areas of strength as well as areas that need further exploration and support.  We are committed to using this information about discipline, behaviors, respect, and student support to improve our programs and services for students. Finally, you will note that there are several areas in which our parents don’t feel informed enough to adequately answer some of the questions on the survey.  With Financial Stability and Customer Service and Communication as the district’s other two goals, this feedback is critical as it will help shape how we work to over communicate important information to the community.

Going forward, the district and individual buildings will continue to analyze these survey results as they plan for the future, improve upon their strengths, and address areas of needed support.  Thank you again to all the parents that took the time to complete this survey.  Your time and dedication to our students is very much appreciated!

Yours in Education,

Danielle Prohaska, Superintendent
